New Pricing Model for Professional Dental Cleaning

Good oral hygiene is the foundation of healthy teeth and gums – and professional dental cleaning (prophylaxis) plays a key role in maintaining it. To provide greater transparency for our patients, we have updated our pricing policy for prophylaxis treatments.

From now on, all prophylaxis appointments with our prophylaxis assistant (PA) and dental hygienist (DH) will be billed at clearly defined flat rates.

Why a new pricing structure?

In the past, treatments were sometimes billed according to time spent or individual services based on the SSO tariff. This occasionally led to uncertainty.
With the new flat rates, we aim to offer a simple, transparent, and age-appropriate system that is clearly defined for both adults and children.

Overview of the new flat rates

Prophylaxis for healthy periodontal conditions:

  • PA prophylaxis: CHF 190.–
  • DH prophylaxis: CHF 230.–

Children:

  • up to 6 years: CHF 95.–
  • 6–12 years: CHF 135.–
  • from approx. 12 years onwards, or earlier once all primary teeth are lost and the permanent dentition has erupted: CHF 190.–

Orthodontic patients (fixed appliances):

  • good oral hygiene: CHF 135.–
  • in cases of heavier plaque accumulation or increased effort required: CHF 190.–

What remains under the SSO tariff?

  • Periodontal treatments involving pocket measurements or more intensive measures will continue to be billed based on time and individual services according to the SSO tariff.
  • Any treatments performed directly by our dentists also remain under the SSO tariff system.

Exceptions and additional appointments

In some cases, one session may not be sufficient. This applies especially to patients who haven’t visited the dentist or hygienist for an extended period, or in cases of significant plaque buildup, subgingival calculus, or pronounced staining. In such situations, a second session may be required — for example, to treat the upper and lower jaw separately or to split treatment between PA and DH. Each additional session will be billed according to the corresponding flat rate.
